Really? Hmmm....what do you all think? What exactly are these "non-negotiables", if there are any?

Tony Jones has posted several responses to this situation with Young Life over on his blog at tonyj.net. All are worth reading (as are the comments).

I did send Jeff McSwain an email just offering my support and encouragement as he and the others who were fired/resigned try to regroup and rebuild. (They've already started a new thing called Reality Ministries, just FYI.) He responded with thanks and said they'd be discussing the EMC event at their staff retreat this weekend. So they know about it, and they know they are invited to come.

Let's just keep them (and Young Life) in our prayers as these kinds of divisions in the Church are very discouraging, I think, for everyone involved -- and for those looking in from the outside.
